The Legend of Dragoon PS5 port receives crucial stability patch

Sony has rolled out a new update for The Legend of Dragoon on PS5, addressing several technical issues that have plagued the classic JRPG since its recent re-release. While Sony hasn’t provided detailed patch notes, players have reported significant improvements across various aspects of the game.

The beloved RPG, which first debuted in Japan in 1999 and reached Western shores in 2000, was developed by the now-defunct Japan Studio, known for creating iconic titles like Ape Escape and PaRappa The Rapper. The studio, which merged with other Sony divisions including Team Asobi in 2021, created this unique turn-based RPG featuring Dart, a young swordsman who, along with his companions, harnesses dragon powers to become Dragoons.

The latest update, version 1.000.004, weighs in at 107 MB and tackles several technical problems that weren’t present in the original PlayStation release. MP1st reports that the patch resolves issues such as glitched character name displays, degraded sound effects, missing battle vocals, and a critical bug involving Rose’s Magic attacks that previously caused game crashes.
