Nintendo Switch Online expands SNES library with Fatal Fury 2 and rare classics
Three beloved Super Nintendo titles join Nintendo’s subscription service with modern features.
Nintendo continues to enhance its Switch Online subscription service with the addition of three classic Super Nintendo titles. The latest update introduces the fighting game Fatal Fury 2, alongside the hybrid action-RPG Super Ninja Boy and the Japanese puzzle gem Sutte Hakkun.
Available through the base Nintendo Switch Online subscription, priced at $19.99 per year, these titles join an extensive collection of games from the NES, SNES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color libraries. Fatal Fury 2 stands as the marquee addition, while Super Ninja Boy offers a unique blend of RPG elements and platforming action. Sutte Hakkun, previously exclusive to Japan, brings its distinctive puzzle mechanics to a global audience for the first time.
These classic titles benefit from modern quality-of-life improvements built into the Switch Online service. Players can create save states at any point and use a rewind feature, making these retro experiences more accessible to contemporary audiences.
Nintendo Switch Online SNES catalog showcases gaming history
The service’s SNES library has grown significantly since its 2019 launch, now featuring over 70 titles. Notable entries include beloved classics like Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and all three Donkey Kong Country games. The collection spans various genres, from RPGs like EarthBound and Breath of Fire to action titles such as Super Metroid and Star Fox.
Looking ahead to the Nintendo Switch 2, the company has confirmed that Nintendo accounts will transfer to the new system. This suggests that the entire retro game library, including these latest SNES additions, will be available from day one on the upcoming console.
While speculation continues about potential GameCube games and classic Pokemon titles joining the service, Nintendo has yet to announce any plans for expanding beyond the current console offerings.
