Nintendo Switch Online Implements Regional Price Changes in Latin America

Nintendo has announced significant price adjustments for its Nintendo Switch Online service across multiple Latin American markets, with changes set to take effect on March 1, 2025. The price modifications will impact subscribers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru, marking the second regional price adjustment in five years.

The gaming company began notifying users of the upcoming changes via email on January 30, with price increases varying by country and subscription tier. The adjustment affects all service levels, including individual memberships, family plans, and the premium NSO + Expansion Pack options.

Price Structure Changes and Regional Impact

Brazil’s market provides a detailed example of the pricing adjustments, where increases range from 11% to 25% across different subscription tiers. The basic individual Nintendo Switch Online membership will see a 20% increase, while the Family membership faces the highest adjustment at 25%. Omelete reports that the NSO + Expansion Pack individual membership will experience a more moderate 14% increase.

Current subscribers have until February 28 to renew their memberships at existing rates, with the option to prepay for up to three years of service. This adjustment contrasts with other regions, such as the United States, where Nintendo Switch Online prices have remained stable since the service’s 2018 launch.

The timing of these changes has sparked discussion within the gaming community, particularly as Nintendo’s subscription service approaches its seventh anniversary in September 2025. While the price adjustments are currently limited to Latin American markets, they come amid broader industry discussions about the future of gaming subscription services.
