Service Growth and Future Content

This update represents a significant shift in Xbox Game Pass’s content strategy. Following a period of consistent catalog reduction from August to December 2024, January 2025 marks the service’s return to growth. Despite today’s removals bringing January’s total departures to 12 games, the month has seen 13 new additions, including the surprise release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black on January 23.

Looking ahead, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can anticipate new content in February, with Far Cry New Dawn scheduled for February 4 and Obsidian’s Avowed set to launch on February 18. Microsoft is expected to announce additional February releases alongside Far Cry New Dawn’s debut.
