Team Asobi’s critically acclaimed Astro Bot continues its remarkable winning streak, securing three major awards at the 14th Annual New York Game Awards. The September 2024 release claimed the prestigious Game of the Year title, alongside honors for Best Kids Game and Best Music.
The charming platformer, which tasks players with guiding Astro on a mission to rescue lost Bots and restore the PS5 mothership, has maintained a perfect 100 player rating on OpenCritic since its launch. The game has earned widespread praise for its innovative use of the DualSense controller and clever PlayStation Easter eggs scattered throughout its world.
This latest recognition adds to an already impressive collection of accolades, with Astro Bot recently being crowned the most decorated platformer in gaming history, accumulating 110 Game of the Year awards. The title previously secured the top honor at The Game Awards 2024, prevailing over strong contenders including Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Balatro.
