Assassin’s Creed Mirage explores new storyline through unexpected partnership

Ubisoft‘s Assassin’s Creed Mirage might receive unexpected story-based downloadable content following a new partnership. French outlet Les Echos reports that Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has reached an agreement with Savvy Games Group during a recent meeting in Saudi Arabia to develop additional content for the game.

The October 2023 release marked a significant shift for the franchise, deliberately moving away from the expansive RPG elements found in Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. This change resonated with both critics and players who appreciated the return to the series’ stealth-focused roots.

While Mirage currently offers cosmetic downloads, it hasn’t received any narrative expansions since launch. The specifics of this potential new content remain unclear, including its length and which development team will handle the project. Ubisoft Bordeaux, the original development team, is currently focused on creating the first expansion for Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Assassin’s Creed franchise prepares for major developments

The franchise faces a significant year ahead with the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This upcoming release carries particular importance for Ubisoft, especially considering recent company challenges. Multiple Assassin’s Creed projects are currently in development, though the extent of their public reveals throughout 2025 remains uncertain.
