Activision has unveiled details about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s upcoming Season 2 content update, featuring a new multiplayer map that reminds players of the beloved Hijacked from Black Ops 2. The update, scheduled for January 28, introduces two fresh multiplayer maps, with one particularly catching the community’s attention.

Black Ops 6 multiplayer enthusiasts can look forward to substantial additions, including five new maps throughout the season, alongside various weapons and game modes. Meanwhile, Warzone players will experience a more focused update, with Activision prioritizing gameplay improvements and bug fixes over new content due to ongoing technical challenges. The battle royale component will receive new Ranked Play rewards and a Reactive Armor perk at launch, with an additional perk planned for mid-season.

Lifeline Map Channels Classic Black Ops Design

The spotlight falls on Lifeline, a new 2v2/6v6 strike map set on a compact yacht. While sharing visual similarities with the iconic Hijacked map, Lifeline stands as an original creation with its own distinct layout. The yacht setting and close-quarters combat design have sparked nostalgia among veteran players familiar with Black Ops 2’s maritime battleground.

Treyarch is also bringing back Grind, the popular skate park map from Black Ops 2’s Revolution DLC, as part of the mid-season update. This 6v6 remastered map, which previously made an appearance in Black Ops 4, comes with an additional surprise that developers plan to reveal later in the season.

The studio has also hinted at upcoming weapon additions, including a mysterious “rip-roaring projectile armament.” Community speculation suggests this could be the return of Black Ops 3’s D13 Sector, a specialized weapon known for its ricocheting disc projectiles capable of eliminating multiple opponents in a single shot.
