Destiny 2’s New Event Brings Rare Exotic Rewards and Exclusive Mementos

Bungie is introducing an exciting new limited-time event in Destiny 2 called “Past is Prologue,” bringing a treasure trove of valuable rewards for dedicated Guardians. The event launches January 21 after the weekly reset, giving players two weeks to participate in special activities and collect exclusive items.

During the event, players can visit the Drifter to acquire quests that reward Bento Tokens, a special currency that can be exchanged with Eris Morn for premium rewards. Players should plan their token spending carefully, as only eight tokens will be available throughout the event period. As a special bonus, collecting five Bento Tokens unlocks access to the rare Chatterwhite Shader.

The reward pool includes an impressive array of high-value items, with each item costing one Bento Token. Players can choose from various categories of rewards, including premium currencies like Ascendant Alloys, Ascendant Shards, and Spoils of Conquest. The event also features powerful weapons such as the exotic Cloudstrike sniper rifle and several Adept-tier weapons, including the Cataphract GL3 grenade launcher and Igneous Hammer hand cannon.

For collectors, the event offers a unique opportunity to acquire rare Mementos from various seasonal activities and events. These special shaders can be applied to crafted weapons, providing unique appearances and exclusive titles. Available options include Mementos from Gambit, Iron Banner, Festival of the Lost, and other limited-time events.

Additionally, each character class can obtain Artifice Armor pieces, which provide extra mod slots for enhanced build customization. The timing of this event is particularly significant as it arrives during the final stretch of Episode Revenant, which has faced several technical challenges, including perk-related bugs affecting Vesper’s Host weapons.
