Diablo 4 Season of Witchcraft encounters technical hurdles at launch
Players face memory leaks and server issues as new seasonal content rolls out with unexpected problems.
The launch of Diablo 4’s Season of Witchcraft has been met with technical challenges as players report widespread stability issues. PC users are particularly affected by memory leaks, causing frequent crashes even on high-end systems within an hour of gameplay.
The seventh season, which introduced witch-themed powers and fresh content on January 21, 2025, has brought new seasonal mechanics, balance adjustments, and additional boss encounters. However, these additions have been overshadowed by persistent technical difficulties affecting the player experience.
Players have taken to social media and Blizzard’s official forums to report various issues, including server disconnections and login problems. While some of these memory-related issues existed before, the season update appears to have intensified these problems, rendering the game unplayable for certain users.
Diablo 4 Season 7 faces additional gameplay concerns
Beyond stability problems, players have identified other issues within the new season. A notable bug affects the Mantle of the Mountain’s Fury chest piece, preventing its intended effect of boosting Barbarian’s Earthquake damage from functioning properly.
The absence of leaderboards in Season 7 has also sparked discussion within the community. Following player feedback, Diablo 4 community manager Adam Fletcher addressed the removal of the Trial Gauntlet leaderboard, indicating that while this specific feature may not return, the development team is exploring alternative competitive systems for future implementation.
