Diablo 4’s new Barbarian armor faces activation issues in Season 7
Players report malfunctioning explosion effects from the Mantle of Mountain’s Fury unique armor piece.
Players diving into Diablo 4’s Season 7 have encountered a significant setback with one of the new unique armor pieces. The Mantle of Mountain’s Fury, a chest piece designed for the Barbarian class, isn’t functioning as intended, with its explosion effects failing to deal any damage despite proper visual animations.
Season 7 introduced the Witchcraft powers system, which players can unlock using the new Restless Rot currency, alongside an array of fresh gear options for all character classes. The season, which kicked off on January 21, brings various adjustments and quality-of-life improvements to the game, including new areas like The Pit with associated leaderboards.
Multiple players, including Reddit users Alex120907 and Hellajoofy, have documented the armor’s malfunction. While the Mantle of Mountain’s Fury should enhance Barbarian Earthquakes with explosive damage, players report seeing the explosion animation without any corresponding damage output. Interestingly, the armor reportedly worked correctly during the public test phase, suggesting a solution may already exist in Blizzard’s test environment.
Blizzard acknowledges Barbarian armor problems in Diablo 4
Until Blizzard implements a fix, Barbarian players might want to consider alternative armor options, as the basic Earthquake ability continues to function normally without the Mantle’s intended enhancement. A Blizzard representative has confirmed that the development team is working on a hotfix for the issue.
The discovery of this bug has prompted players of other classes to scrutinize their new Season 7 gear more carefully, comparing stated effects against actual performance. With Diablo 4’s ongoing seasonal updates and gear additions, similar issues could potentially surface in future content releases.
