Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deploys January Update with Critical Bug Fixes
Capcom addresses persistent technical issues in latest patch focusing on Pawn system improvements.

Capcom has released a new technical update for Dragon’s Dogma 2, addressing several persistent issues across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. The January 29 patch focuses primarily on resolving long-standing bugs affecting the game’s Pawn system and enemy behavior mechanics.
The update targets five specific technical issues that players have encountered during gameplay. A significant portion of the fixes addresses the game’s signature Pawn system, resolving issues such as incorrect dialogue delivery and navigation problems. The patch corrects a bug where Pawns would mistakenly guide players to previously activated riftstones when support Pawn slots were available.
High-level players will particularly benefit from one of the fixes, as the update resolves an issue preventing Pawn appearances in riftstones for characters above level 998. Additionally, the patch addresses enemy spawning problems that previously required game restarts to resolve, and corrects inconsistencies in NPC resistance to status effects.
Technical Update Details
- Fixing issue where some enemies wouldn’t respawn until the game was restarted.
- Fixing issue where the resistance index of some enemies and NPCs towards some status anomalies wasn’t reflected correctly.
- Fixing issue where Pawns would sometimes lead to previously activated forgotten riftstones if there were open slots for support Pawns.
- Fixing issue where Pawns of other players would sometimes not appear in riftstones when the Arisen is above level 998.
- Fixing issue where sometimes Pawns would speak lines that don’t correspond to their specialization.
While this update focuses exclusively on technical improvements, recent datamining efforts from November suggest potential future content expansions, including a possible multiplayer mode. This latest patch follows October’s significant update, which introduced PlayStation 5 Pro optimizations and performance improvements across all platforms.
