Eternal Strands Sets Hardware Bar for Its Ambitious Action-Adventure Experience
Yellow Brick Games’ debut title shows its technical requirements ahead of next year’s release.
Yellow Brick Games has revealed the technical specifications needed to run their upcoming action-adventure title, Eternal Strands. The game, helmed by former Dragon Age director Mike Laidlaw, promises an ambitious experience when it launches on January 28, 2025.
The studio, founded in 2020 by industry veterans from BioWare and Ubisoft, has crafted a world where players take control of Brynn, a warrior investigating the mysterious Enclave civilization. The game features elemental manipulation powers, allowing players to freeze or incinerate enemies, alongside systems for gear customization, crafting, and extensive climbing mechanics, all operating within a dynamic day-night cycle.
For those eager to dive into this new adventure, the base requirements start with Windows 10 64-bit, paired with an Intel Core i5-9400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3350G processor. The minimum setup calls for 8 GB of RAM and 24 GB of storage space, while graphics duties require a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6 GB, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 6 GB, or Intel Arc A580. This configuration targets 60fps at the lowest settings, upscaled from 50% of 1080p resolution.
Players seeking the optimal experience will want to meet the recommended specifications, which include an Intel Core i5-11600 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor, 16 GB of RAM, and higher-end graphics cards like the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB, AMD Radeon RX 6800 16 GB, or Intel Arc A770. This setup enables 60fps gameplay at epic graphics settings, upscaled from 50% of 1440p resolution.
A playable demo is currently available, offering a glimpse into two areas of the game world. Players can experiment with three weapon types, test various magic spells, and explore the crafting system. The demo experience ranges from 1-4 hours, with progress carrying over to the full release.
In a recent Game Rant interview, directors Mike Laidlaw and Frederic St-Laurent discussed how their team’s experience working on titles like Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Dragon Age, Watch Dogs, and The Crew has influenced the development of Eternal Strands.
