Genshin Impact’s Natlan Region Hints at Major Artifact Domain Expansion
Fresh leaks suggest upcoming changes to Natlan’s artifact system as Version 5.5 approaches.
The Genshin Impact community is buzzing with anticipation as new leaks suggest Version 5.5 might introduce fresh Artifact Sets in the Natlan region. This potential addition would mark the first expansion of artifact options in Natlan after four consecutive updates without new sets.
Natlan’s development has notably deviated from Genshin Impact’s typical content release pattern. The region’s rollout has seen several unexpected turns, including Version 5.2’s Interlude replacing the final Archon Quest Act, and the absence of map expansions in both Versions 5.3 and 5.4.
According to information shared by reliable leaker hxg_diluc via DK2, Version 5.5 appears primed to house Natlan’s second Artifact Domain. This timing aligns with several ongoing narratives, particularly the yet-to-be-introduced Collective of Plenty, following the earlier debuts of the Flower-Feather Clan and Masters of the Night-Wind in Version 5.2.
Natlan’s New Artifacts Could Reshape Combat Mechanics
The potential new Artifact Sets would likely carve out their own unique niche, given that Natlan supports already utilize the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, while hypercarries favor the Obsidian Codex. These additions could be particularly significant given the anticipated arrival of new characters like Iansan, Varesa, Effie, and Ifa across Versions 5.5 and 5.6.
With speculation pointing to both Iansan and Varesa being Electro characters, one set might focus on enhancing Overload reactions, especially considering the rising popularity of this combat mechanic. The other set could potentially complement the abilities of upcoming characters like Skirk and Dahlia, who aren’t bound by the Nightsoul mechanism.
