Halo Infinite Announces Mutilator: New Banished Shotgun
Developer confirms new Banished-themed weapon addition planned for Summer 2025 release.
Halo Studios has officially confirmed the addition of a new weapon to Halo Infinite’s arsenal. The Mutilator, a Banished-themed shotgun, is currently in development and scheduled for release in the Summer 2025 update.
The announcement came through the official Halo website, where developers detailed their ongoing work on the weapon as part of their Spring Update communication. While players will need to wait for the Mutilator’s summer debut, a new Fuel Rod SPNKr rocket launcher will arrive sooner, launching with Operation: Frontlines on February 4, 2025.
The weapon announcement comes as part of a broader content strategy for Halo Infinite, which continues to maintain an active player base across platforms. The Spring Update will introduce three new operations and the return of the Assault game mode, alongside weapon balancing adjustments and map modifications.
Halo Infinite, the sixth mainline entry in the franchise, released in 2021 to positive reception from both new players and series veterans. The game has sustained its community through regular content updates, with the Mutilator representing the latest addition to its expanding arsenal.
