Natsume Inc. has revealed plans to bring two Nintendo 3DS-era Harvest Moon titles to the Nintendo Switch platform. The collection, scheduled for Summer 2025, will bundle Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley and Harvest Moon: Skytree Village into a single package.
The upcoming release marks a significant expansion for the farming simulation series, with both games receiving technical updates for modern hardware. Natsume CEO Hiro Maekawa confirmed that the titles have undergone optimization for “current consoles,” though specific enhancements remain undisclosed.
Players will receive comprehensive versions of both games, including all previously released downloadable content. The Lost Valley features ten DLC additions, while Skytree Village comes with four expansion packs. The collection will be available in both physical and digital formats, with both games contained on a single cartridge for physical edition purchasers.
Understanding the Harvest Moon Legacy
The announcement comes amid an interesting period in the franchise’s history. The early 2010s saw a significant change when Marvelous, the original developer of Harvest Moon, began releasing their farming simulations under the Story of Seasons brand in western markets. Natsume, previously responsible for localizing and publishing the series, retained the Harvest Moon name and began developing their own titles under this banner.
These Nintendo Switch ports represent Natsume’s continued investment in the Harvest Moon brand, following their recent release of Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos in late 2023. The collection will be compatible with both current Nintendo Switch models and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, thanks to confirmed backward compatibility support.
