Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Attracts 4 Million Players Post-Launch

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has announced that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has accumulated over four million players since its December 2024 launch. The milestone achievement was revealed during Microsoft’s latest earnings report, highlighting the strong performance of the action-adventure title developed by MachineGames.

The game, which launched on PC and Xbox Series X/S on December 9, has been available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers since day one. Set in the narrative space between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, the adventure follows the iconic archaeologist’s quest to prevent antagonists from acquiring a powerful ancient artifact.

The title’s success has contributed to broader achievements for Microsoft’s gaming division, with Game Pass recording its highest quarterly revenue to date. The subscription service experienced particularly strong growth in its PC segment, with subscriber numbers increasing by more than 30%. This growth was attributed to both Indiana Jones and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, helping Microsoft secure its position as the top video game publisher in December 2024 with revenue exceeding $465 million.

Platform Expansion and Future Development

The player base is expected to grow further as the game prepares for its PlayStation 5 release, scheduled for the first half of 2025. This multi-platform approach aligns with Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer’s stated strategy for broader market reach and enhanced brand development.

Following the game’s successful launch, industry speculation has emerged regarding potential future Indiana Jones titles from MachineGames. While a LinkedIn post from a developer at the Swedish studio has hinted at multiple ongoing projects, no official announcements have been made regarding additional games in the franchise.
