Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Faces Controversy Over Alleged Regional Restrictions

Warhorse Studios’ upcoming medieval RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has become the center of speculation regarding potential regional restrictions. Daniel Vávra, the game’s director, stepped forward to address various claims circulating within the gaming community, particularly concerning rumors of a ban in Saudi Arabia.

The speculation arose following discussions about the game’s inclusion of LGBTQ+ content, drawing parallels to previous cases where titles like Final Fantasy 16 and The Last of Us Part 2 faced regional restrictions. Vávra firmly stated that the game currently faces no bans in any country, emphasizing that Warhorse Studios has maintained its original content vision throughout development.

Taking to Twitter, Vávra addressed multiple concerns from the community. He clarified that the game will not feature unskippable cutscenes and emphasized that players retain full agency over relationship choices within the game. The director also dismissed reports suggesting a decline in pre-orders due to recent controversies.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Post-Launch Content Plans Revealed

While addressing these concerns, some community members pointed to recent updates in the game’s Steam Code of Conduct as a source of controversy. Despite these discussions, the broader player base has acknowledged the tendency for social media to amplify concerns prematurely.

Looking ahead to the game’s February 2025 release, Warhorse Studios has outlined their post-launch support plans. Players can expect three DLC expansions throughout 2025: “Brushes with Death,” “Legacy of the Forge,” and “Mysteria Ecclesiae,” alongside a series of free updates. The medieval action RPG continues the story of Henry, a blacksmith’s son, in his conflict with Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund during the early 15th century in the Kingdom of Bohemia.
