Pokemon TCG Pocket to Revamp Trading System Following Player Feedback

The Pokemon Company has announced significant changes to Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket’s trading system in response to widespread player feedback. The development team at Creatures Inc and DeNA confirmed their commitment to improving the trading feature following concerns raised after the January 29 update.

The current trading system has faced criticism from players due to its restrictive nature. Key issues include prohibitively high trading costs, limitations to friend-only exchanges, and restrictions on which cards can be offered in trades. These constraints, initially implemented to prevent bot abuse and maintain fair play, have ultimately hindered casual trading among legitimate players.

On January 31, the Pokemon TCG Pocket development team acknowledged these concerns through their official Twitter account, stating they are “actively investigating ways” to enhance the trading feature. The developers plan to introduce multiple methods for obtaining trade tokens, including limited-time events, while working on broader improvements to the system.

The Pokemon TCG Pocket community has responded positively to the developers’ transparency regarding these upcoming changes. Players have suggested several potential improvements, including the implementation of mystery trades similar to mainline Pokemon games, level-based trading requirements, and the removal of trading exchange timers. Additional community requests include a comprehensive card search system and the ability to trade with non-friend players.

While no specific timeline has been provided for the implementation of these changes, players can continue to acquire new cards through the game’s Space-Time Smackdown packs or existing Genetic Apex packs. The swift response from developers to community feedback suggests a strong commitment to improving the game’s trading experience.
