Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Next Set Points to Sinnoh Region Focus
Latest expansion rumors suggest Generation 4 theme and dual legendary booster packs.
A prominent leaker has revealed that Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket’s upcoming expansion will heavily feature Pokemon from Generation 4. The leak includes details about booster pack designs and potential release timing for the new set.
DeNA’s streamlined version of Pokemon TCG launched globally on October 30 with its initial Genetic Apex expansion, which contained 286 cards primarily from Generation 1. This was followed by the smaller Mythical Island set on December 17, featuring 86 cards that introduced Pokemon from both Generation 2 and 4.
Notable leaker Pyoro (also known as eb576dcfe) shared information about the third expansion through social media on January 22. According to their post, the release is expected around January 30, though some sources have indicated January 29 as the launch date. This minor discrepancy could be attributed to different time zone references.
Generation 4 Legends Take Center Stage in Dual Booster Design
The upcoming set will reportedly feature two distinct booster pack designs showcasing the legendary Pokemon Dialga and Palkia. This marks a change from previous releases, as Mythical Island offered a single Mew-themed booster, while Genetic Apex featured three different designs with Pikachu, Charizard, and Mewtwo. Based on these details, the new expansion might contain approximately 170 cards.
Pyoro’s credibility stems from a history of accurate Nintendo Direct predictions and recent correct leaks about Pokemon TCG Pocket’s trading restrictions. While unconfirmed information should always be approached cautiously, the source has maintained a reliable track record.
The trading feature, eagerly anticipated by players, has yet to be implemented in the game. DeNA has confirmed its commitment to launching trading functionality before January 2025, potentially coinciding with the release of this third card set.
