PS5’s Anniversary Themes Face Temporary Removal, Sony Confirms

Sony has announced the upcoming removal of PlayStation 5’s 30th Anniversary themes, scheduled for Friday, January 31. These commemorative themes, which have been available to PS5 users for several months, feature nostalgic elements from previous PlayStation generations, including the iconic PS1 startup sequence.

The special themes, released as part of PlayStation’s 30th-anniversary celebration, have garnered significant popularity among users, particularly due to their unique status as the only dynamic themes available on the PS5 platform. The collection includes visual elements reminiscent of the PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4 eras, offering users a customizable dashboard experience that pays homage to PlayStation’s history.

In response to the announcement, Sony has addressed user concerns through their official Twitter channel, confirming plans for the themes’ eventual return. “We’re doing some work behind the scenes to bring them back in the months ahead,” the company stated, acknowledging the positive reception from the PlayStation community.
