Ridge Racer 64 Races onto Nintendo Switch Online Platform
Classic N64 racing title joins expanding game service with multiplayer support and extensive vehicle roster.
Nintendo Switch Online has expanded its Nintendo 64 catalog with the addition of Ridge Racer 64, offering subscribers access to the classic racing title through the service’s Expansion Pack tier. The game, originally released in 2000, brings its distinctive racing mechanics and comprehensive feature set to a new generation of players.
The emulated version maintains the game’s core features, including multiplayer support for up to four players. Players can choose from an extensive roster of 25 vehicles and test their racing skills across nine distinct courses. The game incorporates tracks from both the original Ridge Racer and Ridge Racer Revolution, alongside new circuits developed specifically for the N64 release.
Ridge Racer 64 takes its place among other notable racing titles available through Nintendo Switch Online’s N64 library, including Mario Kart 64, F-Zero X, and Wave Race 64. The game’s arrival strengthens the racing genre representation within the service’s growing collection of classic titles.
Nintendo Switch Online continues to expand its retro gaming offerings across multiple platforms. Recent additions to the service include SNES titles Fatal Fury 2, Super Ninja Boy, and Sutte Hakkun, as well as NES and Game Boy Color versions of Tetris. The platform notably added Banjo-Tooie to its N64 lineup in October, following player requests since the 2022 release of its predecessor, Banjo-Kazooie.
