Smite 2’s Latest Hotfix Brings Major Changes to Its Divine Roster

Titan Forge Games has deployed a significant hotfix update for Smite 2, addressing multiple gameplay elements across its diverse roster of mythological characters. The action MOBA, which runs on Unreal Engine 5, continues to evolve since its launch as the successor to the 2014 original title.

Release Manager Kabir Barry announced the January 21, 2025 update through social media, detailing numerous improvements to the game’s mechanics. The patch focuses on enhancing various Gods’ abilities, including modifications to Agni’s Notorious Fumes, Cabrakan’s Refraction Shield, and Zeus’ Chain Lightning. A notable quality-of-life improvement allows players to use Basic Attacks while utilizing Base Teleporters, while the Bumbas Golden Dagger item received adjustments to prevent area damage affecting Minions.

The free-to-play title, available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Steam Deck, has implemented a seasonal system similar to other contemporary multiplayer games. Players can access the game through various purchase options, including Founder’s, Deluxe Founder’s, and Ultimate Founder’s Editions. The recent open beta period introduced Aladdin as a playable character and brought back the popular 3v3 Joust mode, alongside a new Arthurian-themed map.
