Black Ops 6 Season 2 hints at iconic disc-firing weapon’s comeback

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 developer Treyarch Studios has sparked speculation about the return of a beloved weapon from Black Ops 3. The studio’s recent tease of a “rip-roaring projectile armament” for Season 2 Reloaded has led many players to believe the D13 Sector, the disc-firing weapon from 2015’s installment, will make its way back to the franchise.

The upcoming Season 2, launching January 28, promises a substantial content drop for both Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Activision and Treyarch have unveiled plans that include five new maps, four game modes, and significant gameplay updates. Classic weapons like the PPSH-41 and the TR2 (formerly known as FN FAL) are confirmed to join the arsenal.

Black Ops 6 Season 2 Reloaded expands with new features

The mid-season Reloaded update, expected in late February or early March, will introduce additional content including new maps, perks, and weapon attachments. While some elements have been confirmed, Treyarch’s cryptic mention of the new projectile weapon in their blog post has particularly captured the community’s attention.

The update will also bring several notable additions to Black Ops 6, including the return of the fan-favorite Grind map from Black Ops 2 and a new map called Bullet, set on a moving train supporting both 6v6 and 2v2 formats. Players can look forward to the new Hunter’s Instinct perk and the Flyswatter Wildcard, which enables the replacement of melee weapons with launchers.

Ranked Play will receive a significant update with Season 2, allowing console players to disable crossplay in ranked matches. This feature addresses community concerns about cheating, particularly from PC players, giving console users the option to compete exclusively with their platform peers.
