Honkai: Star Rail Leak Reveals Major Gameplay Shift for Cipher Character

A significant gameplay modification has emerged through recent Honkai: Star Rail leaks, revealing substantial changes to the upcoming character Cipher’s combat mechanics. The information, shared by reliable leaker Uncle Hellgirl, indicates a complete revision of the character’s previously expected abilities.

According to the leaked information, Cipher will no longer feature the damage-over-time (DoT) abilities initially associated with the character’s kit. These abilities are now reportedly being transferred to another upcoming character, Hysilens, marking a significant shift in the development team’s approach to both characters’ combat designs.

The revelation comes amid Honkai: Star Rail’s ongoing expansion into its fourth playable world, Amphoreus, which has already introduced several new characters to the game’s roster. While both Cipher and Hysilens are expected to debut during the Amphoreus storyline, specific release windows for either character remain unconfirmed.

This development follows HoYoverse’s established pattern of character releases, where new additions often undergo modifications during development. Similar to previous world expansions, the developer has typically staggered character releases throughout update cycles, as demonstrated by characters like Sunday in Penacony, who appeared in Version 2.0 but wasn’t playable until Version 2.7.

The game’s immediate future includes the arrival of Version 3.1, which will introduce new characters Mydei and Tribbie, alongside additional content such as a new Divergent Universe iteration and a permanent game mode. The development team continues to expand the Amphoreus region, with more explorable areas planned for upcoming updates.
