Marvel Rivals Unveils Festive Update with Soccer-Inspired Game Mode
NetEase’s hero shooter introduces a special Spring Festival with unique rewards and gameplay twist.
NetEase Games is bringing a fresh wave of excitement to Marvel Rivals with the announcement of its Spring Festival event. The celebration introduces an innovative game mode and exclusive rewards to the superhero-packed shooter, marking the game’s second major limited-time event following its successful Winter Celebration.
At the heart of the Spring Festival lies the Clash of Dancing Lions, a unique game mode that puts a superhero spin on soccer mechanics. Teams will battle it out on the field, working together to maneuver a ball toward their goals, offering players a lighthearted break from traditional combat scenarios.
The event comes packed with new cosmetic content, featuring special skins for Black Widow, Iron Fist, and Star-Lord. Players will have the opportunity to unlock the Star-Lord costume at no cost, along with an exclusive nameplate and additional rewards yet to be revealed. Similar to the Winter Celebration’s personalized holiday cards, players can also create their own custom Gallery Card during the festivities.
This update arrives as Marvel Rivals continues to expand its roster during Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, which recently welcomed Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman as playable characters. The game’s development team maintains an ambitious content schedule, promising new hero additions every six weeks to keep the experience fresh.
While the Spring Festival takes center stage, data miners have uncovered potential future additions to the game, including references to popular characters such as Cyclops, Deadpool, and Ultron in the game files. The mid-season update is also set to introduce Human Torch and The Thing to the playable roster, with recent Gallery Cards teasing a possible confrontation between Blade and Dracula.
