Nintendo Switch 2 Game Case Dimensions Surface Through Retail Listing
French retailer inadvertently reveals potential case sizes for upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 games.
New information about the Nintendo Switch 2’s physical game cases has emerged through a French retail listing, potentially revealing the dimensions for the upcoming console’s game packaging. According to Brazilian journalist Felipe Lima, Take-Two Interactive’s listing on French retailer Fnac indicates the cases will measure 5.1 by 7.7 inches (13×19.5 centimeters).
The leaked dimensions suggest a slight increase from the current Nintendo Switch game cases, while remaining notably more compact than PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X physical game packaging. A fan artist known as HertzBurst has created comparative artwork illustrating the size difference between current and upcoming Switch game cases, though the dimensions remain unofficial pending confirmation from Nintendo.
This revelation comes amid growing anticipation for the Nintendo Switch 2, which has been confirmed to feature magnetic Joy-Cons and enhanced technical specifications compared to its predecessor. The console itself is expected to be marginally larger than the current Switch model, aligning with the reported increase in game case dimensions.
While specific details about the console remain limited, French gaming accessories manufacturer Nacon has indicated a potential release window between April and September 2025. The game lineup currently includes a new Mario Kart title and several third-party releases such as Bestiario, My Time at Evershine, and Yooka-Replaylee. Microsoft has also confirmed plans to release select Xbox games on the platform.
Nintendo has scheduled a Direct presentation for April 2, where additional details about the Switch 2 are expected to be revealed, potentially including official confirmation of hardware specifications, pricing, and launch titles.
