SWORN Prepares Dark Twist on Arthurian Legend in Upcoming Steam Release
Team17’s co-op roguelike challenges players to face a corrupted King Arthur in fallen Camelot.
Team17 and Windwalk Games are set to launch their ambitious co-op roguelike SWORN into Steam Early Access on February 6, 2025. This fresh take on Arthurian legend turns the traditional narrative on its head, casting players as rebels fighting against a corrupted King Arthur and his fallen Knights of the Round Table.
The game supports up to four players in cooperative play, though solo adventurers can also take on the role of a Soulforged knight. Players will forge alliances with legendary figures like Merlin and Nimue while investigating the mysterious darkness consuming the realm of Avalon. The game features over 200 unique blessings from the Fae Lords, adding depth to its progression system.
Following months of community playtesting, including a final test on January 16 that showcased Ultimate abilities and two distinct biomes, the development team has confirmed the game’s readiness for Early Access. The current live demo offers players a chance to experience the game’s dynamic combat system and master various weapons and abilities.
SWORN’s gameplay emphasizes creative combat approaches across ever-changing battlefields, incorporating complex roguelike elements that encourage multiple runs. The game stands out among upcoming medieval titles with its distinctive comic-inspired art style and unique premise.
